mental health tribunal advocate
Hogans Solicitors are currently recruiting for an experienced mental health tribunal advocate.
The successful candidate must be an existing member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Accreditation Scheme and have at least 12 months experience of running their own caseload and carrying out their own advocacy.
He/she must have a full, clean driving licence and own transport. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must and the successful candidate will be self-motivated with an ability to work alone and also as part of a team. He/she must be able to adapt to different ways of working and be flexible in their approach. Good IT skills will also be required.
The role will involve all aspects of mental health tribunals, hospital managers hearings and CPA meetings and ensuring that files are run in accordance with the Legal Aid Agency Contract requirements.
The successful candidate will be based out of our offices in Rainhill, Merseyside and the package will be competitive depending on experience and qualifications.

MENTAL HEALTH & COURT OF PROTECTION LAWYER
Hogans are currently looking for a Mental Health and Court of Protection lawyer to join our team and are happy to speak with a range of candidates about the role. You may be a paralegal working in this area of work who is looking to progress or a senior solicitor looking for a change of position. For us it’s about getting the right person who shows the desire to progress and develop within this specialist area of law.

Family department - various roles

Family Solicitor
Applicants must be confident and experienced Children Panel members, with experience of managing their own caseload within family proceedings, specifically children law and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of family matters including care and supervision proceedings, special guardianship, adoption, child arrangements and inherent jurisdiction.
We are looking for solicitors who have a minimum of 6 years PQE and who are able to conduct their own advocacy at court as well as being able to manage their own time and caseload effectively.
Successful candidates must have a current practising certificate and have a current Children Panel Accreditation with the Law Society. They must also have a clean enhanced DBS check.
Family Paralegal / Family Executive / CILEX Lawyer
Applicants must be able to work well as part of a busy family team as well as having the ability and initiative to also work by themselves. You must be self-motivated, professional in your approach towards clients and have a good understanding of the law (degree in law is desirable). It is essential that you are able to manage a busy workload and cope well under pressure in order to meet deadlines and ensure a high level of client care.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to analyse documents, records and other legal material and be able to summarise/highlight information that is relevant to the case in order to assist the family solicitors who have conduct of the case.
At least four years experience of having worked in a family law environment at a similar level is essential.
Family Secretary
Applicants must be someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and have good word processing skills, with at least four years previous experience of legal secretarial work within a family department.
The ability to work as part of a busy team is essential but you must also be able to manage your own time effectively as well as keeping fee earner and court diaries up to date. You must take initiative to plan ahead and be able to identify any potential issues in advance.
Client care is extremely important to us, so a friendly and professional manner when dealing with clients and third parties is essential.
